The city of Fredericton is located on the banks of the Saint John River, in the west-central part of New Brunswick. With a population of 56, 224 habitants, the capital hosts a vibrant and dynamic community. While the economy is highly supported by the public sector employment, the greater Fredericton area is now home to more than 50% of New Brunswick´s Information Technology industries. Fredericton is the New Brunswick centre of information technology, engineering, environmental and advanced training in technology industries. Fredericton is also a centre for higher education with two Universities and a variety of training college and institutes.
Blessed with lovely Odell, Carleton and Wilmot parks, you’re sure to find the perfect picnic spot. Alternatively, go for a freshwater swim at Killarney Lake. Fredericton boasts a network of over 88kms of trails extending on both sides of the beautiful St. John and Nashwaak Rivers. With 25 trails offering a variety of urban, suburban, and wilderness environments, Fredericton has one of the premier trail systems in the Maritimes. The City trail system invites walkers, runners and bikers and is connected to the Greater Trans Canada Trail System. |
